Bluegrass Diamonds was established by a group of highly skilled bilingual Acadian musicians from southeastern New Brunswick. They recorded and released their first album in 1990; so far, they’ve released eight albums (some in English, some in French) as well as a concert DVD.
This energetic and highly entertaining group has performed all over Canada and shared stages with some of the biggest bluegrass names in the world. They’ve earned countless nominations and have won numerous awards from both the East Coast Music Awards and East Coast Bluegrass Awards.
Today, the group continues to thrive with a lineup that blends legacy and innovation. Founding member Vincent Cormier remains at the heart of the band, joined by his son Louis Cormier, ensuring that the family tradition carries forward. The addition of world-renowned fiddler and mandolinist Ray Légère, whose career includes collaborations with Tony Rice and Alison Brown, brings international prestige and virtuosity. Alongside him, Frank Doody adds drive and precision with his banjo and guitar work, rounding out a powerhouse ensemble.
With their bilingual repertoire, award-winning musicianship, and dynamic performances, Bluegrass Diamonds embody the spirit of Acadian culture while staying true to the roots of bluegrass. Their shows are a celebration of heritage, energy, and community, offering audiences a chance to experience music that is both timeless and uniquely their own.
